Stanford Riding Academy
The Stanford Riding Academy offers english riding lessons to students, faculty, staff, community members, and Stanford-affiliated people alike with the goal of creating well-educated, humane horse people. Lessons focus on building solid foundational skills within a safe, fun, and fulfilling environment. For our classes, riding levels start at riders comfortable at the walk, trot, and canter up to offering over fences classes at around 2′ to 2’6″. All riders should be comfortable grooming and tacking up a horse independently.
Our Stanford Riding Academy program offers classes on a quarterly schedule. Each quarter starts with a private goal-setting lesson with our instructor to work on what each rider’s focus will be in the quarter, followed by once-weekly group lessons with riders of a similar level. The quarter ends with a capstone event, such as a clinic with one of our coaches or clinicians. Classes are offered on Saturday and Sunday. Program fees are due at the beginning of each quarter.
Our program is currently full. If you are interested in our community lesson program, please contact Tina Davey by email for more information and to complete our waitlist questionnaire.
